No Fast Tip Friday...but a Giveaway!

Last week you saw a sneak peak into what was brewing in Mama Cook's Kitchen.

After much trial and error, I present to you: Harvest Spice Tea!

Here is the beautiful reveal...

This tea is reminiscent of Pumpkin Pie with all of those same yummy spices in a Vanilla Rooibos Tea.

Naturally caffiene free, and all organic!

To gain the pumpkin flavoring, simply add a teaspoon of Pumpkin Butter! Mix with a splash of cream {or Rice Milk, in my case} and a sprinkling of nutmeg.  Ahhhh...dessert in a cup!

So onto the giveaway...

This week there will be two winners! Each will receive a package containing: a bag of Mama Cook's Harvest Spice Tea, a jar of Trader Joe's Pumpkin Butter, and a tea strainer.

To enter, simply post a comment on a question or topic you would like to see me blog about!  You can enter as many times as you wish!  If you share a link to my blog via Facebook, you receive an additional entry!

Winners will be randomly selected and announced next Friday!

Be Refreshed!

  2. How do you get your kids to hang up their towel on the hook after their shower/bath? My kids have a spot to hang theirs and I might start screaming if I find a damp towel on the floor of their room again!

  3. I would LOVE to read how you cut corners and ways your family lives frugal.
Also, what is your bedtime routine for your littles?

  4. I have TWO links to your blog (yes, before you even asked! ...although, admittedly, the second was an accidental repost).

Buuuut...my question to you, Mama Cook, is about your diapering system. Granted, I have some foreknowledge, and use Bum Genius cloth diapers like you, but lately my little girl has been drinking so much before nap and bedtime that she soaks through the insert and ALWAYS wakes up wet! So, how do you keep the diapers from leaking?! Am I doing something wrong?

  5. @Tristen, feed her a few tablespoons of baking flour before she goes down for a nap, after drinking her milk. the flour will soak up the liquids in her stomach and result in less liquidy waste.

  7. @ tristen, I would add another insert or possibly put a plastic pants over the diaper as well to protect the bedding. It seems with mine, it's been phases and we use disposables for naps and nighttime when they go through leaking phases.

I'd like to know your morning routine, how long it takes you to get out the door and what you do before hand and the actual morning of.

  13. I am a friend of Jen's and saw her FB post. If I can figure out how to do that, I'll do it too. lol I was very intrigued about the elderberry syrup and would love to see more on natural medicinals, and meatless high protein recipes.

  14. @Annika--did you not read the post about dying to yourself for your children? "Me time" is those middle of the night feedings! Lol. :)

@Erin--thank you for the tip! The diapers don't save money if you have to wash the sheets twice a day!

Another question for Mama Cook, it seems eating healthily is just natural for you, how do you make sure you're getting all of the nutrients you need during pregnancy, since you're always pregnant?! Do you have a system?

  15. Tristen, I thought of another tip from my oldest. I used disposable inserts, they hold a lot more and better than an entire disposable diaper. They used to sell them in 30 packs at Babies R Us for $3, but I haven't seen them in awhile. Basically a maxipad without the sticky (though you could try those for a cheap alternative) but what about gdiaper inserts if you can't find any?

  16. Awesome advice! Thank you! I will check around. This is the first time I've run into a problem with the bum genius diapers, so I thought maybe mine were wearing out, having bought them used and all...I am so glad others have encountered the same issue. Thanks Erin!! You're a blessing!!

  17. TRADITIONS! That's what you should write about! Ones that you grew up with and are keeping alive with your kids or ones that ou have started and hope will be carried on with your grandkids. I have always loved traditions and am curious to hear about what other people value and how they go about it!

  21. Oh, how to narrow down the subjects I'd love to see you post on... I'd love to hear how you involve your kids in ministry opportunities (daily or organized activities) and how you respond to people's negative comments about having a large family. We only have 4 kids and I don't know what to say! Thanks for all of your posts! I look forward to them!
